Prologis is always keen to promote healthy lifestyles through sport and a healthy diet. This is why we back a range of initiatives and events that support healthy lifestyles for park users under our PARKlife™ philosophy.

Many of these events also support good causes, such as the 36th Popular Race at Vila de Sant Boi, held under the auspices of the Club Atletisme Sant Boi and the Sant Boi de Llobregat municipality and partnered by Prologis, whose registration fees go to the Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu community hospital.

A total of 1,250 charity runners lined up for the run in November, and we joined them to support the good cause and to build links with our communities. This is a popular event with close links to the town's local institutions, shops and businesses.

The Cursa Popular of Vila de Sant Boi follows a demanding course, but is inclusive and open to anyone. Runners can choose from a range of options: Popular 10 km, Popular 5 km or special races for children or families.

The value of solidarity

As well as promoting a healthy lifestyle, the race seeks to raise funds for good causes. This time, registration fees went to Llobregat’s community hospital, the Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu Health Park in Sant Boi, and will pay for Nordic walking equipment so that patients can practice a sport recommended by the hospital’s health professionals.

Research conducted by the Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu shows the benefits of sport for both physical and mental health.  Nordic walking, they say, can help combat the sedentary lifestyle and isolation often experienced by people with a mental health issue.
