Prologis España signs off the regeneration of Park Circuit DC1
Prologis España has a new logistics building ready to go, fully renovated in just 5 months. This was a new renovation project, a solution to repurpose and modernise obsolete facilities, and provides massive opportunities in the now highly competitive Spanish market. The Spanish team has deep industry know-how when it comes to reviving logistics spaces that no longer meet the needs of today's operators.
Modernising logistics facilities is most usual as a solution in the outer suburbs or beyond of markets like Madrid or Barcelona, where urban land near final consumers is scarce. The newly renovated Prologis Park Circuit DC 1, acquired in February 2020, is in a prime location in Barcelona's outer logistics ring between the municipalities of Montmeló and Granollers. It is just 27 kilometres outside Barcelona, 39 kilometres from the airport and 30 kilometres from the Port. The El Circuit industrial estate, neighbouring the legendary F1 and MotoGP race track, is an ideal site thanks to its seamless links to the AP-7 motorway.
The building has 20,000 sqm of logistics space, 11 metre clear height and 41 loading docks, 9 for trucks and 32 for vans. The layout is designed to handle logistics and distribution activities for a range of sectors, including food, pharma, tech and many others. It is also a showcase for cutting edge technology, a 4.0 automated building that includes advanced innovations such as a latest-generation LED lighting system. All functionalities share one thing in common: energy efficiency to help cut the carbon footprint. Its BREEAM “Very Good” and WELL certifications recognise the building’s top quality standards in terms of sustainability.
