Prologis, Inc., the global leader in logistics real estate, has obtained WiredScore Platinum certification for its Guadalajara DC1 building — the highest recognition awarded by this international organisation, which evaluates the quality and resilience of a building’s digital infrastructure.
WiredScore certification provides an independent assessment of key aspects such as connectivity, redundancy and technological readiness, giving occupiers greater visibility into a facility’s ability to support advanced logistics operations, automation and data-driven workflows.
Guadalajara DC1 becomes the first logistics building in Europe to achieve this classification, a milestone that strengthens the asset’s positioning within the European logistics portfolio. This distinction validates the building’s ability to support automation processes, warehouse management platforms and highly digitalised operating environments, which are increasingly present in today’s logistics sector.
The building benefits from multiple independent fibre providers, ensuring redundant connectivity and service continuity for critical operations. It also incorporates an advanced real-time energy monitoring system that enables occupiers to track electricity consumption and optimise energy demand across the facility. These capabilities, together with on-site EV charging infrastructure and back-up connectivity solutions, enhance the asset’s operational resilience and provide users with greater visibility and control over daily performance.
“Today’s logistics requires much more than space. Buildings must support the technological and digital transformation underway in the sector, responding to evolving occupier and market needs while ensuring operations aligned with 21st-century standards and future readiness,” said Cristian Oller, SVP, Head of Asset Management, Southern Europe at Prologis.
Located in the El Ruiseñor Industrial Park, Guadalajara DC1 offers a total surface area of 40,000 square metres and a strategic position with direct access to the A-2 and R-2 motorways, one of the main logistics corridors in central Spain. The building features 14 metres of clear height — three metres higher than a traditional logistics facility — enabling up to 25% greater storage capacity and improved operational efficiency.
The modular building currently has 20,000 square metres leased to Factor 5, a company specialised in logistics solutions, transportation and supply chain management. Guadalajara DC1 also holds BREEAM Excellent certification, ensuring high standards of sustainability, energy efficiency and construction quality. In line with the PARKlife™ philosophy, the park includes amenities designed to promote employee wellbeing, such as a paddle tennis court with seating, a table tennis area and a community garden.
